RAM Musical Theatres

The Royal Academy of Music is the UK’s oldest conservatoire. Founded in 1822, the Academy welcomes over 800 young musicians annually from more than 50 countries and is consistently ranked among the top three conservatoires worldwide.

On Saturdays, the Royal Academy of Music transforms into its Junior Academy. Young musicians aged 12 to 18 travel from all over the UK for one-to-one lessons, specialist classes and a variety of performance opportunities that challenge and inspire young musicians of all backgrounds.

With the support of the Mila Charitable Organisation, the Academy has founded a new Junior Academy programme for Musical Theatre. Each week, 60 young performers take part in an intensive three-hour training programme, strengthening their skills in singing, drama and movement. Working in small groups, participants benefit from sessions run by world class visiting actors, singers, directors, choreographers and musical directors from London’s West End.
