The String Scheme

Many children do not get the level of music tuition that used to be enjoyed at primary schools yet there are many detailed research studies that highlight the many non-musical benefits to learning a string instrument. Based at three primary schools in Guildford, The String Scheme is designed to boost music tuition and the programme is free at the point of use to the schools and children.

Mila has supported The String Scheme since 2017 with grants to cover tuition fees, the maintenance of instruments, to run the orchestra and for core costs.
